While visiting the NSW South Coast town of Moruya, a beautiful winters day saw us do a short out and back from Mullimburra Point to Bingi Bing Point. This walk provides a sample of the Bingi Dreaming coastal walk from Congo to Tuross. We didn’t have another car to do the car shuffle needed for the whole walk.

Another Covid lockdown before Christmas and Sydney’s very very wet summer and autumn has kept me off the trails. My friend Rodney and I took advantage of a glorious winter day to do this next GNW section.
The Glenelg river flows into the see at Nelson, near the Victoria border with South Australia. Nelson is the western turning point of the Great South West Walk, which follows down the Glenelg River and through the gorge just upstream. We did a short out and back walk through the gorge, dodgeing rain.
We did a day driving trip from Portland to Mt Gambier, to take in a few of the local attractions. Its about a one and a half hour drive west via Nelson.
Cape Bridgewater is a remnant of a volcanic crater overlain by pleistocene sandy limestones and holocene dunes. It lies west of Portland, looking back east to Cape Nelson across Bridgewater bay, with many interesting features. We visitied on a day trip from Portland, dodging a little rain.
