The Glenelg river flows into the see at Nelson, near the Victoria border with South Australia. Nelson is the western turning point of the Great South West Walk, which follows down the Glenelg River and through the gorge just upstream. We did a short out and back walk through the gorge, dodgeing rain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This section of the Glenelg river is a well known canoe trip as well with well established canoe camps along the river.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The start is at the junction of North Nelson Road and River Road. The walk goes west along the riverside track atop the limestone gorge cliffs for a couple of kilometers and then returns by the same route.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Its a pleasant short work beside the river,<\/p>\n\n\n
